Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has condemned the action of Israeli military jets flying over a sports stadium in Lebanon where funeral proceedings for slain Hezbollah leaders were taking place. Araghchi described the incident as an act of terrorism aimed at intimidating mourners.

On Sunday, hundreds to thousands of people gathered at the Camille Chamoun Sports Stadium in Beirut and surrounding streets to attend the funeral of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated in a release that Israeli military jets flew at high speed over the funeral procession to send a clear message to Hezbollah.

The overflight has sparked international criticism, with many viewing it as a provocative act during a sensitive moment of mourning. The incident further escalates tensions in the region, highlighting the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
