President William Ruto has announced that the government will revise the requirements for obtaining a standard visa and the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for passengers arriving at the Port of Mombasa. This move is part of broader efforts to boost cruise tourism in the region.

President Ruto stated that the eTA visa will allow cruise tourists wishing to visit Mombasa to travel freely between the ships they are traveling on and the city, without needing separate authorization each time they disembark from their vessels.

The President emphasized that these visa changes align with recent adjustments made for international passengers arriving at Kenya’s major airports, ensuring a streamlined entry process for all travelers. This initiative aims to enhance the overall travel experience and further promote Kenya as a preferred tourist destination.
